Hi, my name is Mara,

A little bit about me. I first started working in Funeral service around 20 years ago because I felt that the funeral industry lacked a lot of personal care and attention that every family deserves when they lose a loved one. After working for a few of Melbourne’s largest funeral organisations, I still felt that I couldn’t live up to my full potential as the time management for each family was not what I’d consider a long time frame.

So I ventured out and applied to work for small independently owned funeral company’s. After being interviewed by four smaller, independently owned companies, I was offered a job by Golden Gate Funerals as a funeral assistant and client care support. It's where I feel I’m truly able to give every family member the time and support that they deserve.

Death affects everybody differently, just like people, we come in different shapes and sizes, and so does grief.

Emotions you may feel: You may feel angry? Devastated? Relieved? Lost? or even empty? You may not feel anything at all, or you may feel like you’re trapped under a tonne of steel. You can’t break free, you may want to scream, you may want to cry, and you know what.. that is all okay. Every one of those emotions is perfectly normal so no matter what your emotion or feeling may be, we at Golden Gate Funerals will guide you through those emotions hand in hand and side by side, together insuring you that you won’t be alone through this journey.

Grief support is available for all families at no additional charge, whether support is needed or just somebody to talk to over the phone, email, at our office, in the comfort of your own home or even your local cafe. Whatever your most comfortable with, we will be there with you to listen, guide you and offer advice and help you through this period.
